Obituary of Paul J. A. Percudani
Paul J. A. Percudani (47) of Fairfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
He was a lifetime resident of Fairfield and graduate of Fairfield High School.
At the young age of seven, Paul became enamored with basketball and spent two years in Varese, Italy, with his family following his father’s coaching career. When his father returned to the U.S. and joined the Phoenix Suns, Paul had an upfront seat and accompanied his dad on many basketball adventures, especially the epic 1993 games against Chicago. Paul had a photographic memory and could recite every statistic and player. At the age of 27, his father’s passing initiated his long struggle with substance abuse and depression. At the time of his death he was valiant in his recovery journey. He wanted to make a difference for others especially those on the recovery path. He had a blend of big-heartedness, sensitivity and charm.
He loved to play basketball and his favorite teams were the Phoenix Suns and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed watching TV shows pertaining to history, extraterrestrials, and M*A*S*H reruns. He took great pleasure in being by the beach and watching a beautiful sunset. He felt things deeply. Having the gift of gab, Paul was a real storyteller with many imaginative ideas. His round-the-clock phone calls and subjects of the day will profoundly make his absence felt by many. He will be deeply missed.
He was the beloved son of Amelia Percudani and the late Richard P. Percudani (Fairfield), a loving brother to Louisa Percudani (Fairfield), Carol (Ron) Lake (Westport), Richard (Carmen) Percudani (Sherrills Ford, North Carolina), Stephen (Schellie) Percudani (New York, NY), and cherished uncle of Alex (Elin) Percudani (Sweden), Christian Lake (Westport) and Stella Percudani (Sweden), and a beloved nephew and cousin. Paul was predeceased by his older brother, Anthony Marc Percudani, who was the first born child of the family who died right after birth.
A Mass in Paul’s honor will be held on Tuesday, July 27th, at 10:30am at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, CT 06824.
