We were so privileged to meet Mr. Clark at our home when hosting a high school graduation party for our son and friends, among them his grandson Bennett Amador. To this day, we talk about his presence: kind, engaged, curious with a wonderful sense of humor. To Lois, Alex, Bennett, and the extended family, we express our sincere sympathy. Your dad/grandpa was such a treasure, filled with warmth and wisdom. We will continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. We feel blessed to have met such a special and accomplished man. Art, Suzanne, John, & Grace Rhatigan

Like Jimmy Stewart in the movie A Wonderful Life. Dick Clark had a wonderful life.
Not a life without sorrow or adversity - but a life long and well lived - a blessing to his family, his faith, his country and many friends. With the help of his son Dennis - DIck found the 740th Tank Battalion Association (and me) online probably 15 years ago. When Dick emailed me - I immediately emailed back and asked if was "Junior" Clark. Dick was so young and baby-faced - his crewmate Arlas Pierce (Tank Driver) named Dick "Junior" who was the Tank Gunner. From that first connection until his recent birthday Dick was all in for the 740th Tank Battalion and attended reunions and went of three or four trips with us back to Belgium and Germany. So, how did I know Dick was nick-named :"Junior" - it was because Dick's Tank Commander Jack Bennet was from Waco, TX and we had many of Jack's photos in our archives. Dick - all of us who knew you - loved you and your family. Thank you for being such a great friend and supporter of the 740th Tank Battalion and me personally. Mark Hatchel, Son of Joe Hatchel Company D - 740th Tank Battalion and Secretary of the 740th Tank Battalion Association.

I was sorry to hear of the loss of my Army Buddy Dick Clark I have been blessed to have him with me all these many years. My Sympathy, love and Prayers are with his family. I am
sure you all will have many memories to share in the future. God Bless you all.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!

I have great memories of spending Thanksgiving with Lois and her family in Temple Terrace during college. Will never forget Dick carving the turkey and saying "This bird will never fly again". He was a wonderful father and a wonderful man. RIP Dick.

Mr. Clark was a resident at The Watermark at 3030 Park and I had the absolute privilege of getting to know him, and share an occasional dance whenever there was music playing! He was a lovely, kind, and gentle man who I know is now dancing in heaven.

The last time we visited Tampa, it's been a few years, I called Uncle Dick and asked if Chris, Claire and I could come over for a visit. He was like visiting royalty! He gave us a tour and so many friends wanted to meet us. We could tell he was so well liked and respected. We enjoyed every minute and loved listening to his life stories. To think, all the siblings of Toad and Sis Clark, back together again and with Aunt Shirley at his side, he must be very happy!
Thoughts and prayers to all the family. He will be missed!

My Husband was the Commander of Dicks Co D 740th Tank Battalion during WWII. I met Dick in 2014 at one of the Battalion Reunions and so enjoyed talking with him. He was able to share some stories of my husband, which meant a lot to me. I enjoyed the time we spent together. What a lovely man! I am so sorry for your lose, and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
