Miklos Devald, age 77, of Westport, entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
Born and raised in Sarospatak, Hungary, Miklos defected to Austria in 1967 and arrived in the United States in 1968, where he ended up settling in the Fairfield County Area. Miklos started his own successful business as Miki the Painter and learned many additional crafts throughout the years to add to his repertoire. He enjoyed small woodworking projects, watching Westerns, being outside in nature, and cooking his Hungarian meals.
Miklos' memory will be lovingly remembered by his former wife and dear friend, Linda Devald, of Westport; his two daughters, Christina Carneglia, and her husband, Anthony, of Norwalk, and Catherine Devald, of Bridgeport; his granddaughters, Kristen Pirro, and her daughter, Mikaela, of Bethel, and Atomica Carneglia, of Norwalk; an older sister, Marika Matisz; nieces, Eva Dudas, Eva Devald, and Erika Devald; nephew, Rudolph Matisz, and grandnephew, Lorant Dudas; and many great grand nieces and nephews, all from Sarospatak, Hungary. He was predeceased by his parents, Istvan Devald and Marika Duranyik; and a brother, Janos Devald.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with burial to follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his service.
