Theresa Elizabeth Pavliscsak Sharp, age 90, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Les Sharp Sr., passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield. Mrs. Sharp was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and a resident of Seaside Village for over 50 years. Mrs. Sharp worked during WWII at the General Electric Co of Bridgeport where she met Les Sharp, Sr. The two had enjoyed bowling and dancing to big band music. They were married in 1951 and had 53 years together before Mr. Sharp passed away in 2004. Theresa was a member in the Republican Party, working many elections in the South End. She worked at the University of Bridgeport as the Student Record's Clerk in the office of the Dean of Students. After she retired from UB, she worked seasonally for H&R Block. A member of St. Ann's Church, she regularly attended Saturday afternoon Mass. She enjoyed Bingo at both St. Ann's and the Senior Center. She and Mr. Sharp took advantage of many of the Senior trips and traveled to the Poconos, Hershey PA, the La Salette Shrine, and the occasional trip to the CT casinos. She rarely missed a UConn Woman's Basketball game and was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan. Mrs. Sharp was known for her cooking and baking, especially her Hungarian pastries. You were always welcome in her home and enjoyed when friends and family just dropped in. Mrs. Sharp would often knit and especially crochet afghans as gifts for her friends and family. At one count, she had made over 150 for all occasions including wedding and baby showers. She also crocheted hats for premature babies and would whip up a scarf and hat set for anyone who helped her out. Although she suffered from dementia in her last few years, she never forgot her family and friends who were so important to her. Aa loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Sharp is survived by her son Les Sharp, Jr and daughter-in-law Laurie Sharp. Her daughter Betty Ann Sharp and her husband Jim Ellis. Her grandchildren Geoff Sharp and his wife Tiffany; Dawn Hurley and her husband Brian; and Bob Sharp. She has seven great grandchildren who called her Cookie Grandma. She also leaves behind her aunt, Pearl Pavel as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Pavliscsak, originally from Hungary, and her four brothers, James, Edward, John and Joseph. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:45 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 10:30 am in St. Ann Church, Brewster St., Bridgeport.
