James Smith, age 55, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, entered into eternal life on August 17, 2017. Jim was born in Chateauroux, France and had worked as a carpenter. He took great pleasure in fishing and was an avid New York Giants fan. Jim's memory will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Mildred Tabak Smith; a brother, John A. Smith, of Bridgeport; two sisters, Pamela LaFleur, and her husband, James, of Bridgeport, and Judy Smith, of Bridgeport; two aunts, Betty Smith and Beverly Tabak; a uncle, Jack Sullivan; two nephews, Andrew and Alexander LaFleur; and several cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. All other services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be directed to Jim's family through the funeral home.
